Founded in 2016, Platinum Geomatics, LLC (PG) is a growing, minority-owned, disadvantaged business enterprise (MBE/DBE) Georgia based land surveying, aerial mapping, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), utility coordination, and construction engineering inspection (CEI) firm with offices located in Buford and Cartersville, GA. 

We are seeking a highly motivated MAINTENANCE ENGINEERING INSPECTOR

This is an entry level technical work supporting higher level technicians and engineers in functional areas such as roadway inspection and documentation. Work usually involves a significant amount of decision making and use of judgment and may include providing work directions to others.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Perform independent inspections of roadways and materials to assure compliance with the maintenance contract.
  • Perform standardized inspections.
  • Work may include inspecting asphalt and concrete for acceptable materials: inspection of roadways and structures for conformance to plans, and specifications and traffic control and erosion control devices.
  • Perform a variety of calculations and computations.
  • Perform contract documentation duties, which may include field measurements of pay items as well as other Department required documentation.
  • Work may include other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Basic knowledge of materials, methods, and equipment used in roadway maintenance.
  • Working knowledge of mathematical functions.
  • Skill in the use of office equipment such as calculators and computers.
  • Ability to read, interpret, and explain such things as roadway plans, contract provisions, specifications, and inspection procedures.
  • Ability to take notes and prepare or review reports.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Ability to instruct other employees in proper work methods.
  • A valid driver’s license is required as a condition of employment.
  • Day and/or night work required to support the contractor’s schedule.

We are seeking a highly motivated Construction Aide, Inspector, or Project Manager

The ideal successful candidate will be/have:

  • Accurately records and reports daily forms per project requirements
  • Communicates effectively with client, contractor, staff, and supervisor
  • Proactively resolves problems at the lowest level
  • Adheres to project scope, schedule, and budget
  • Reviews all work for completeness and accuracy prior to submitting
  • Submits accurate time sheets, mileage and expense reports on time each week
  • Reviews jobsite safety daily and takes immediate action to document and resolve issues
  • Understands OSHA Safety Standards and corporate/client policies and follows them at all times
  • Maintains all required certifications and participates in training courses as required
  • Understands all applicable industry standards for project and performs all tasks per standards and client requirements

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Perform construction inspection and reporting of erosion and sediment control, concrete, earthwork, and asphalt pavement.
  • Must prepare detailed and timely reports to document construction progress, inspection and testing results.
  • Prepare necessary records and measure field quantities, conduct field tests and other tests that may be required to determine contractor’s compliance with contract specifications.

Driver’s license is required as a condition of employment. Day and/or night work required to support the contractor’s schedule.

We are seeking a highly motivated Project Surveyor.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include:

  • Successful execution of survey projects
  • Lead survey drafting and point processing (conventional and GPS)
  • Coordinate field work with Survey Field Supervisor
  • Review boundary retracements with PLS to ensure and improve quality
  • Train draftsmen and field crew personnel
  • Assist with proposal and resource allocation, budgeting, and project tracking
  • Ability to problem solve, offer project solutions and options for clients
  • Act as liaison between upper management and field crews

Requirements:

  • High school diploma/equivalent or greater
  • 10 years of experience
    • Minimum of 5 years as Project Manager with direct client interaction
    • Minimum of 2 years with project management 
  • Boundary/cadastral survey experience (DOT database prep experience preferred)
  • Mastery of CADD drafting; ability to train others
  • Experience in MicroStation InRoads/OpenRoads, Carlson Survey, and Trimble Business Center including field survey equipment
  • Topographic mapping skills and the ability to draw detailed sketches of structures
  • Valid driver’s license and clean DMV report
  • Background check required
  • Licensure as a Professional Land Surveyor
